About The Blog

I decided to start a blog of my fishing sessions as somewhere to keep a record of places I have been and fish I've caught, or not caught, so after a couple of years I could get a good idea of where fishes well at a certain time of the year or in certain conditions.

I've been a keen fisherman for almost as long as I can remember, my first taste being catching roach on the pole at a local pond. Eventually I was inspired to give sea fishing a go after reading an article in one of the coarse fishing magazines about using coarse gear to fish down the side of piers and jetty's. I give that a try and I was soon pestering my Dad for a beachcaster setup. It took a lot of blanks but after persevering I caught my fish beach fish, the faithful dogfish. From then on I have caught more and better fish each year.

I enjoy my fishing because I always learn something new everytime I go out or everytime I read an article in a magazine or on a website. There is always new marks to explore or different methods to try out.

Hopefully this blog will also be an enjoyable read to others as well as providing some useful information for anyone thinking of wetting a line!
